Default Ls6 Block, ls1 heads, etc...

I've flipped through pages looking for answers, but can't find them, and search is broke. I spun a bearing this weekend, or broke a rod, not sure which yet, but the crank won't turn over with the start, or by hand, something is real bad off. I can either spend alot of money fixing my block/crank, etc..., or for what looks like anywhere from 500-1000 pickup a 6.0 shortblock. I know my heads will bolt on, and I've heard you have to drill and tap the block for the altenator pulley. Will I see any problems with this setup? Will I gain/lose any power? I know about the additonal 90-100 lbs in the iron blocks. Are the block stronger, just as strong? Any opinions or suggestions are welcome.

The block is stronger because it's made of iron. The iron block is not an ls6 block though. You will gain some power because of the added bore size. You will obviously need different pistons.

It comes with a complete rotating assembly. Any problems with the iron block, and alum heads? I've heard since they disperse heat at different rates it can create problems. Is this true?

No, it's not true. All the iron truck blocks are using aluminum heads (recent years of course). If it was a bad idea I don't think they would be doing this for a few years now. I know quite a few people who are running iron blocks and aluminum heads. They aren't putting down baby numbers either.
