2002 ls1 question
I have a 02 camaro with some good mods on the car but I cant get it out of 13s. I have found the car is running really really rich and we are trying to lean it out. The symptoms seem to be a fuel pressure regulator but the more and more i look i can only find a thing called a damper. Here is what is going on
Cold Starts smells like fuel (strong), dies out in reverse, loses power during high RPMs.
We did a car dyno at FLP at with all the mods on it it only pushed out 321.2 HP and 308.4 TQ which sounds like a stock Z, so this is what is bothering us. We are trying to find someway why this car is so ****ing slow.
does anyone know how to lean out this car and possible figure out why this car is running like this. could he need just a tune up ?

It had all the mods listed and you have had this problem from the get go I imagine. First things first is the basics in good order IE O2's plugs wires and the MAF? If they are then start checking things. You mentioned stong fuel smell well that is from unburnt fuel. Unburnt fuel gets out a couple of ways. You don't have a large cam so overlap isn't something to consider here. Now, burnt valves but you don't have any backfiring or missing so that isn't likely. Could be that the cam is installed a tooth off. What about a dyno graph? Post it, maybe in your tiny cam they used a set of LS6 springs that can't handle that cam at higher rpms. When you say tiny cam I'm thinking along the lines of 212/215 or something like that on a 114 lsa. You have to know more in order to make a educated decision. Because if they tuned your car and mechanically it is straight even with a stock tune it should have made 20-30 more hp at the rear wheels on a STOCK tune with a small cam. Fuel pressure is easy to check, but I suspect that isn't the problem.
