Thumbs down oil pressure fading

This can't be good. So I got on the 427 pretty good the other day and shortly after my oil pressure dropped. It would fall to 0 and come back up if I blipped the throttle. I started it up today and the pressure stayed up until it got heated up then it fell a little. It would stay up until I blipped the throttle, then it would fall to zero and would come back up when I blipped it again. My oil pressure has always been slightly lower since I installed a ported pump. I am going to change the oil tonight and see what I see. MTI recommended that I try a Melling high volume pump. I only have ~5k miles on the motor so I hope the bearings aren't worn out. Does anyone have any other ideas about what my issue could be??
THANKS!

First off don't run it obviously. We had an old tractor do some BS like that. Turned out it was the pickup tube. Could be a tore or worn o-ring in your case. Or maybe it is cracked or something like that. Doubtful it is the pump unless it is a total POS. Like I said sounds like a pickup tube issue to me.

Yeah that sounds like a possiblility. I'm about to start tearing things apart, I guess that is the best I can hope for.
Any other ideas?

I would first check the oil guage sensor, those things break rather easily.
Then Pump/pick up assembly
Also rear oil plug
Otherwise, could be something internal related to bearings
