1.6 rocker arms??
Ok. So I was bored at work and wondering if anyone made 1.6 rockers for the LS1s. I was thinking that if anyone made these, you could swap them on the car for regular daily driving and make the springs live longer. Then on the weekend or when you go to the track, put the 1.7s back on. Sound stupid to anyone?

There are "break-in" rockers available in some brands with 1.4.and maybe 1.3:1 ratios. I've even heard of engines that ran worse after putting the regular ones back in the exhaust, so the racer stuck with the low lift parts...

Yea. Didn't think about that. I was just thinking that you could have like a .600 lift cam and swap some 1.6's on it and have a decent ~.560 lift for normal driving and whatnot .

The thing is, is that it isn't as much the lift as it is the harshness of the lobe that wears on springs. If you lower the lift and still have a XE-R lobe, it's still gunna wear out. I would say that lift is miniscule in determining wear, unless your pushing your springs to coil bind every time.
