Default cam / rear end questions.

ok now i'm going back to my original plan of a cam for my car and i'm wondering ( getting tsp 233/239 cam the campckg2, asp pulley, 3.73's or 4.10's in the rear and a ls6 intake. ) if i'm missing anything please let me know, but my question is with these mods, and my car being a m6, do you guys think my 10 bolt will be ok or is it just a roll of the dice, i can't really afford all this and a moser 12 bolt right now so......just gimme your thoughts.

How's your self control..........my 2 cents on the 10 bolt longevity AFTER bolt-ons alone is "iffy" at best. When you add the extra power of the cam and torque multiplication of a steeper gear you're going to have to master slipping the clutch starting off and "banging gears" is probably a "no-no" also. I'll be in your situation shortly, good luck. (start saving for the 12 bolt or 9 inch)

I'm going to go for it with my 10-bolt for a while, but I'm adding a new rear end cover. I chose one that clamps down on the carrier bearing caps. If it goes, I just want it to be the pinion. When I put in the 4.10's, the carrier bearings were just about shot, so I bet that is one of the main causes of the 10-bolt letting go. It's preventable with maintenance, so I wonder how many blown 10-bolts are really due to lack of care, rather than just being weak...
