Default coil pack switch to newer ones

This may be a dumb question I have a 98 ls1 Im building a 6.0 bored .30 over with a magic stick cam I have the stock coil pack that im relocation to brackets to compensate for the 6.0 valve covers. So i heard if you get the newer coil packs that they have hotter spark then the 98 is this true and can I switch without changing my computer. I have access to hp tuner too thanks guys

I didn't think that it would really be worth the money. I think that MSD is the only one offering these so far...there may be others but i don't know. I think that you will be spending over 500$ for them. It may or may not be worth it. What is the gap on the plugs you are going to run?

I'm pretty sure that truck coils have a hotter spark... I have a set for my project.

Yes the truck coils do have a better spark if you can find a set cheap. I don't think I would pay dealer cost for a set. Maybe try a junk yard.

He is talking about the coil packs themselves. The stock wires will work fine.

you have got to be kidding me.

"pulled harder"?

i barely noticed the difference in catbacks..

anyone else notice a difference with WIRES?

(maybe your MSDs were on for 150k miles and were shot?)
