Default CMP Test

Is there a way to test the camshaft position sensor? (2001 ls1) I have a constant 5v across the sensor signal (brown/white) wire regardless of the cam rotation. Thanks in advance for the help.

I believe if you have a voltmeter between the signal and ground wire it should fall to zero when the cam sensor 'hits.' Since the cam sensor is 180* cam rotation on or off and rotates 1/2 crank speed you will have to turn the engine over at least once by hand to see a change.
