Default Ok to re-torque rods and mains?

I received my shortblock from one of the sponsors on here and one of the car club guys suggests that I retorque all the rods and mains(ARP). Is it ok to just throw a torque wrench on there and verify that they are torqued to spec? Or is this not needed?

THanks

It won't hurt anything to do it. Go for it. It is really the head studs that need to be retorqued because the gasket will compress some.
