408 cam choice
Would a cam in the 242/248 range on a 408 be considered a small cam? If so would something in the 248/254 range be considered radical? I see these cams with .600+ lifts so I would think that to be standard for these motors. I am going to do a 408 build and am trying to decide how aggressive I want but do not know enough to reference the 408 size motors to cam size. This will by a hydrolic cam also.

A big part is your personal goals for the car and how much you will actually drive on the street. Some can tolerate a huge cam and it's characteristics without a problem, others go mild to keep it nice and streetable. For my 402 I run a 244/250 .612 113 LSA cam on an A4 car. By some standards that is mild stroker cam.The key is having it properly tuned.

I`m going with 244 248 612 615 113 lobe. I wanted good street manners and good power. We went down the middle. Ben at G-Force really liked this cam for my 408. I have everything in sig to bolt to it. Just got the ported LSX90 intake back from LME last night. Car will be on the dyno for tuning by noon. Mine is a A4 and my wife drives it. So street manners where very important to me. Then I spray a 200 shot for anyone else. !!!
I have a set of ET 245`s on it. Can`t wait to see the numbers! They flowed sweet!
