Default compression calculators... keeps telling me i have 5.4:1 :(

ive tryed 2 different ones now then keep giving me 5.x:1

Cylinder Diameter: 3.905
Stroke Length: 3.622
Number of cylinders: 8
Chamber in cc's: 58cc (4.8L)
Piston dome in cc's: -2cc
Gasket Thickness in inches: .52 (GM MLS)

Clearances
Piston To Bore: .0047”
Main Bearing: .0023”
Rod Bearing: .002”
Ring End Gap: .027”(Top) .019”(Second)
Rod Side: .022”
Deck Height: 9.225”
Quench: .039”

doh! whats the bore diameter on that GM MLS gasket?
also how do i figure my " Piston Deck Clearance" from the specs above?

The head gaskits should be (.052) not (.52) that is alittle over a 1/2" thick

I noticed that your ring gap is .027 top and .019 second ,should'nt that be the other way around the second ring should always have a larger opening than the top ring

thats for the 250 shot to compensate for (heat)expansion.....

From the specs listed above, your pistons would be .013 above the deck or -.013 in the calculator. Measure .052 gasket minus .039 quench = .013

With that, I come up with 11.5 SCR .

Im running a pro foger 250 shot on my new 418cid.and my ring gap is .020" top .024" second.Here is a sight were you can calculate the ring gap to the type of motor your running

wow everyones getting between 11.1 to 11.5 thats a pretty big gap....

LME built the short block for exactly what i had planed to do with the car. i have faith in there work and calculations...

ok u supplied the (-).013, and i found out the gasket bore is 3.910
and thats what i get too...

Is 3.905 bore stock? and if so 3.910 sounds right for the gasket bore
