needed help asap
i was changing my vavle springs in my 00 ss when a vavle DROPED
only thing is the piston is half way up and it did not fall into my motor in fact its still in the vavle guide. a pin magnet is not strong enough to pull it up.. any ideas?

i've done this before
A turn the motor over slowly
B take out spark plug and try to pry valve up threw hole
C take another valve of same size stick it in there and try to pull up the valve with that. if your quick enough you can create a vacuum in there. otherwise attatch a big magnet to the valve and try that way.
i have succesfully used all three ways. its up to you

The wire through the sparkplug hole might work if its one of teh front cylinders, but will be tough if its in the back.
If you rotate the engine, bust be very careful. Use a breaker bar as opposed to a ratchet, so that you can rotate then back off then continue to rotate then back off again. You dont want the sten to get jammed up sideways, so go slow and counter rotate from time to time to keep it from jamming.
I dont know about the vacuum idea, as it would likely just slide back down, but its worth a try. Might squirt a little bit of thick oil in there to seal it up and create the vacuum. also it might slow the valve enough so it dosnt immediately fall back down.
Good luck, and let us know which one works.
