Ported heads = leaner?
Mods in sig
I think my car is running pretty rich (since it smells so much) and I was wondering; when I put my ported heads on, will the added air help to lean it out a little or will the computer just add more fuel for the extra air.
I know I'm sort of oversimplifying it but what do you think?

I recently had my heads ported but at the same time I went from the Hooker Catback to the Bassani True Duals and a larger Throttle body. Before tuning it caused me to run very lean at WOT.
In other words (at Wide open throttle) if you have more air flow with the same fuel delivery it will run leaner. If not at WOT the computer should bring you back to 14.6 AFR.
Good luck,
Al

ah exactly the info I was looking for.
Perhaps the heads will make me too lean. I'll definitely get a tune before I go WOT with the heads. Thanks a bunch!
