Default head bolts??

When replacing head gaskets do you need to replace head bolts or are they reusable??

We are installing a tr230 cam and figured while he was right there at it he was goen to check the lifters. it has been making a tapping noise for a while now and he thinks it might be a lifter....

Stock head bolts are not re-usable. You will need to get new ones and follow the installation procedure using an angle meter to tighten them when you re-install the heads.

You can also get arp head bolts or studs that are reuseable. If you have the extra money get the studs Next time you remove the heads you wont have to clean out any coolant from the bolt holes.
