Default Best way to fish out a lifter HELP!!!

Well I dropped a lifter into the pan during my heads and cam swap. I left one in somehow and when I pulled the cam it dropped.

I have tried getting in their with a small magnet on the end of a rubber hose with the oil pan unbolted...but I just cant get the damn thing

I am doing poly motor mounts as well and it looks like If I removed the motor mounts and jacked up the motor then the oil pan would come down far enough to where I could just reach right in and grab it from the back. Even with the motor mounts in I can get like a half inch of room in the rear of the oil pan. Their is more room on the side but I can get it from their either. keep getting stuck to the crank. And from the front has been nothing but failure as well

does this sound like a good idea? what has everyone else done to get them out?

thanks guys

Drop the pan when you do the motor mounts. You can even drop the k-member down a little bit if you need to.

Dropping the pan would be the easier way to "fish" it out.

I dropped the pan...but I still cant get it.

But it looks like I could get it easily from the back if it would drop another couple inches. The oil pan dips down in the rear making easy access if my idea would work. Anyone tried it? (lifting the motor with motor mounts off)

That would probably be the route I would take.
