Default What would happen if.....

I put a completly stock set of ls6 heads in place of my ls1 heads? Would they fit? Driveability? Power?

Sorry for the uber nood question

yes they would fit, but you need new pushrods, because the ls6 cam has a smaller baseline than the ls1 cam. power would increase, driveability would be excellent.

noob questions are fine, thats what we are here for. Its just nice to see someone write a legible post.

Uhm, just the heads....I think nothing else would have to change. You can search and probably find a lot of things...

Thanks, Would it be cost-effective to do such a swap or would you recommend going the route as to a performance oreintated/ported ls6 head? My main goal is to not make gobs of power, it is to keep reliability and driveability.

if you find them for cheap just put them on. iv seen ls6 heads with nice springs and an ls6 manifold go for $700 all together. if not i recomend cnc ported ls6 heads if you want driveability and power on a budget. http://texas-speed.com/shop/item.asp...d=649&catid=20

I have thought about doing the same thing. But ported, polished, milled 241's got me the power I was looking for.
