Question Gear Drive?????

im looking up gear drive for my camaro and it says : NOTE: will not work on computer-controlled vehicles with knock sensors."
can anyone tell me why that is and would it just be better to stick with a timing chain?????

I believe the noise or gear meshing throws the sensors off.

Pete Jackson Gear Drives

Better performance--accurate timing

Replace your timing chain with a Pete Jackson gear drive. Unlike timing chains, a gear drive doesn't stretch, so your cam timing stays more accurate. Pete Jackson builds its drives with dual idler gears, making them more stable than single idler gear drives. A Pete Jackson gear drive is as easy to install as a timing chain and will fit under your stock timing chain cover. If you want things nice and quiet, pick the "quiet" drive, or choose the noise drive that whines like a supercharger. Minor machining may be required.

I found this, said it would fit an LS1 truck why would the quiet one not work with knock sensors

gear drive will cause the knock sensors to go crazy. You would have to disable them.
