Aftermarket Rockers-are they worth it
I am doing a cam and spring install right now and I am debating on getting some aftermarket rockers. Do they give you much more power and are they any easier on the valves...............If I get some I would get either HS or Yella Terra's Is it worth the money???????

I personally like the Comp Pro Magnums. They utilize guide plates so its lsightly different than the above mentioned rocker set. However it does have a roller tip and it is also a light rocker body which is a good thing to have over top of the valve.

As a side note, I installed the non-adjustable HS on a completely stock 2003 Z06 about three weeks ago and saw -0- change in HP or TQ. Yesterday, we removed the HS and installed the Crane 1.8's. There is a definite seat of the pants performance increase over the HS's. We will be dynoing next weekend.

I don't think so unless you run ito a situation where you need them for some reason or you just run out of other things to modify.
On my car I had to get comp cams stud mounted rockers for a few reasons, first the bolt holes for rockers in my heads were a little worn on 3 or 4 of them, so I wanted the studs for a permenant solution to that. Also my valve lash was always wrong with the stock rockers because my aftermarket valves are longer than stock.

Please post your results. I have a set as well, but am currently running the Crane 1.7's. I also have a set of 1.8's for sale brand new in the box (actually, they are a friend's). I think these are great rockers myself, but they seem to get a lot of bad press by people who know nothing about them and have no experience with them.

The Crane and Comp Pro-Magnums are actually pretty good stud mounted rockers (lightweight over the valve due to the aluminum design). The others are too heavy over the tip or cause too much resonance.
The LS1 is an incredibly noisy engine that has enough problems with harmonics as it is. I suggest people don't invest money that contributes to this problem. The stock rockers are fine unless you have a specific need to go to a full roller. Just get the HS rebuild that adds C-clips and new trunions to the stock rocker body if you are worried about spilled needle bearings.
