Default highest lifting cam made for the ls1?

i have a stock ls1 block bored .030 to a 383 with all forged eagle internals. im looking for a huge solid cam and heads that flow really well and can accept like .700 of lift. im looking to use these as my power adder and get rid of the procharger. my previous cam was a 239/239 and i forget what head i had put on. but they were from texas speed if that helps any. i am also looking for a very high compression. like 13.x to 1 or 14.x to 1

call Allan Futral if you can get a hold of him. He deals with Cam motion and they have solid cams to fit the bill. Be sure you get your heads done up with the right springs to take the lift and get the right lifters.

I'm with you there, I'm sure he doesn't mean that... Maybe a 6.0L block or 5.3 cast block, who knows. What was the real reason you wanted to run a .700" lift "big" cam? You are going to have to have a set of heads that flow ridiculously well at .700". I'm guessing with that cam and the compression you're looking for, this is for a drag-only car. Hope you don't plan on streeting that... Give us more information on your combo, or people won't make recommendations.

it already is a drag only car and no its just a 346 ls1 block bored out .03 to make it a 383 stroker. im looking to get rid of my procharger and use a huge cam and a huge set of heads to make up for the power loss. 67firebird455 what other information do you need?

Before you start making all kinds of claims to what you have and what you want..

maybe you should figure out WTF you're talking about first?

I think youve managed to turn your ls1 block into scrap metal. An LS1 block under no circumstances can safely take a .030 bore. Not to mention that would make it merely a 351 ci motor. And since a longer crank has not been installed, it dosnt quality as a stroker.

http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/store...tegoryId=10759 i ordered this kit and took it to my mechanic and told him to put it in. i assumed he bored it out because it turned it into a 383, but i guess it gained cubes because the kit made it have a bigger stroke.

he may have bored it from 3.898 to 3.905. Thats only .007" which is certainly possible. Its the 4" stroke that really gains the cubes.
