It depends on what YOU think is "worth it" Full roller rockers can and will give you more horsepower due less drivetrain friction and ratio. If you are really wanting to get the most of your ls1 then sure go for it, but if you cannot justify spending X dollars and getting X horsepower, then no it is not worth it. I was going to put 1.8 rockers on my ls1, but instead I decided to go with a more aggressive cam and PTV issues came up.

I do have some for sale on ebay if you are interested in some really sweet rockers.

aight guys, i already got springs, pushrods. but i was reading in GMHTP about these roller rockers and the power increase. I'm also going FI with a STS turbo.

would buying the 1.8 or 1.85 roller rockers benefit me a good bit for the application i'm installing?

i heard of gaines of 17rwhp+; to me thats worth it

also, where can i get JUST The roller rockers?

You also should change the valve springs. The stock springs can't handle the lift of the higher ratio rocker.

sorry to highjack this thread, but was wondering if this could be used(1.8 rollers)with my TR224/112 cam with 918springs and what would the typically(if any)gains be if used on this cam.
thanks

saying the rocker will be bad for it??

here is what i already have: titanium retainers, locks, pushrods and springs.

i was simply wondering if 1.8 or 1.85 rockers would benefit my motor more

As mrr23 pointed, the CRANE/Vinci rockers are better than slp rockers which are just stockers in a different ratio.
The accelerated lift tech that Crane developped has not been matched by anyone yet.
Kit comes with everything including p-rods.
Setting preload and lash is a bit tricky but there is good install info on the VINCI site.

You can't, you need the whole kit since they use way shorter p-rods.

yes, you can buy just the rockers and poly locks. you will have to get the appropriate length pushrods as they require shorter pushrods. also, because these are adjustable, you have to have the guideplates.

now, what if i keep the stock 1.7 ratio and get roller rockers? will that change the length of the pushrods, as the stock ratio is 1.7

if not oh well, cuz i sure as hell aren't takin out what i got to just have it set around and have to sell it

with the crane, you have to get shorter pushrods. the HS, YT, SLP, you do not.

even if i convert to the crane 1.7 roller rockers, which is the stock ratio ; i would still have to switch, but i wouldn't have to switch at all for the HS YT or SLP ones.

i have heard about the yellow terra rockers. but since i'm not taking apart my springs and locks again, then whats the best bet? HS or YT?

Formulapower, talk to Nate at nasty perf. & ask him about the split shaft rockers from Curtisbilt, I think you can see them at racecurtisbilt.com

ok, learned that Harland sharps' break after time/wear out (heard from people) due to weight of Yella terras and inertia they cause valve float; Vincis are 800bucks, jesels are 1300 bucks.

I'm seeing that the stock rocker is plenty good on my car for all that i need. I don't plan on building a race engine and spending a lot of money on my car; so yeh. def not seeing roller rockers in my future

I just wanted to add that I was talking to the thread starter. You sorta hijacked his thread, instead of starting your own. My only point was that if anyone upgrades to higher ratio rockers they need to upgrade the springs. They barely control the stock cams.

I have the Crane 1.8's with a 228-230/571-573 112* cam. I've got maybe a 1000 miles on the setup. But I must say that the Crane's are a very nice rocker. For the money it's not a bad deal. They come with the guideplates and 7.250 pushrods in the kit. In my setup they are fairly quiet as well. I don't have hardly any valvetrain noise at all. I don't have any experience with ant other rocker though, other than stock.

Another wise option is to just get your stock rockers rebuilt. I think it's Nasty Performance that has them rebuilt by Harland Sharp. They press out the old rollers and put in sealed units. It's not bad and alot of people run them for I think around $250. At least with this option you don't have to worry about puking needle bearings from a stock rocker.
