cam for rediculous torque for 2-5krpms
how could you design a cam that makes rediculous torque from 2-5000rpms.I was thinking a smaller duration cam with a real small lsa like 106 or somthing and less lift.give me your thoughts.no concern for high horsepower just maximum area under the curve from 2-5.

You'll want a higher LSA cam. The lower the LSA the more overlap you have, thus just blowing the intake charge right out through the exhaust until it closes, losing you torque down low. For 2k-5k you'll want probably a 112-114 LSA. Of course it's all very general and utlimately comes down to the exact valve events you need based on your heads, intake, and exhaust setup.

Ummm...I'm pretty sure that a cam with a lower lsa will peak earlier than a high lsa cam. You don't want a tight lsa on FI cars because it will just blow the mixture out the exhaust. At the same time, on NA cars the exhaust being sucked out helps pull in the intake charge. I'm not sure if a 106 lsa would work but it would be wild...and a pain in the butt to tune.

If you want torque coming out your ears get the Patrick G torque cam.

ArticZ28,
While LSA, ICL, ECL have input in how a cam performs, it is all an issue of VEs and durations relative to the rest of the combo. LSA and such are the VE tuning factors.
