You're pretty much stuck with the 98 head gaskets on 98 heads.

I could have sworn somebody made a .043" thick gasket that worked on the 98's. Let me dig around and try to help you out.

It`s the Mr.Gasket one`s that will work on 98 heads. I just bought a set for $42 at AutoZone. .042" I believe is the thickness on them

Get some 243 castings with a .040 gasket and be done with it

...ok and valve covers to make them actually work.

oh dont remeind me, i was so close to ordering the 243 on sale form patriot, but that fact is this is a "now" car for me and in 2-3 years a want to sell it for a vette, unforchunatly at 18 years old and in college that 1K in heads that i wont be able to get back will make a huge differnce in wether the i actually get the vette or not.

And anyone know about these Mr. Gasket's ? Maybe I'm stupid for thinking this way but I am hesitant to put AutoZone headgaskets on my car?

Just as good as the GM ones and shouldn't be a problem considering you're making huge power.

If you have valve reliefs they'll work fine for ya but otherwise I'd be hesitant to run .042" thickness gaskets with the T-rex.
