Default new lifter guides?

my lifter guide seems to be pretty worn in a few places, some of the lifters would just fall out if i flipped them over, so should i get a new set of lifter trays or can they be pretty loose?

That sounds pretty normal. I think the guides are there solely to prevent the lifters from spinning in their bore.

If you still want to replace them, I think the guys have been going with the LS2 guides, but you should verify that.

I replaced mine, not very expensive and there were some marked "10" on them that had issues. I went with the standard LS1 version.

local dealer ordered some for me , but i hafto buy 5 for some reason.. wich doesnt bother me anyway as he told me a price of 3$ each. i know what the lifter guides are there for, the one was alil too loose though barley touching the lifter if at all compared to a pretty snug fit with the others, and i dont want to spin a lifter, reason i was asking if i should get new.. taking way too long to do this swap though i hafto wait till mon now for them.

I ended up with five too, so I have one to admire if I want Seems kind of silly GM packages them as five rather than four since the motor only uses four.
