Would like to know your overall experience with this cam. Where do you start to really notice the cam in the power band? What combos seem to be working well? Would you buy it again or select something else?

I have that cam and made 396 RWHP with TSP PRC Stage 1 heads and all the bolt ons. I like it. Power comes on around 3500 pretty hard and pulls well till my shift point of 6500. On the dyno it pulled hard past that to 6700 I believe. If I had to do it again, not sure. Maybe try to get the power to come on sooner as I have a vig 3200 and 3.42 gears. I may swap gears later to 3.73. I will definately be doing a 90/90 intake ported and ported TB. Try for 425 RWHP. At that point I'll be alright. I also Have nitrous which seems to work well with this cam as well.

I love mine, and would get it again. With a cam like this you want to make sure you have enough gear in the rear. I have a set of ls6 heads that I am going to be sending out to TEA, so hoping for 460rwhp or so. all cams love nitrous in our cars. A nitrous cam is really only worth it if you are running a big shot. 250+

Here is a graph of a torquer 2 swap into a basic bolt on Z28. You can see where the power comes in and carries out to. This is one of the nicest larger cams to drive, the power comes in pretty early too and that helps out with driveability. Getting gears do help out with bigger cams. If you guys need any help or have any questions let me know!!

BTW, how's the Spec 3+ holding up? That clutch is also being considered.

This car is a daily driver for me so I can't afford to have huge pedal pressure or difficulty slipping it.

Torquer V2
I run the Torquer V2. ,A4,Vig 3200-3400 stall, with the 3:73 gears in my daily driver. I was very happy with it until I got the PRC Stage 1 heads. Now I am amazed how much a set of heads can wake up a LS1. Were talking real seat of your pants torque. I am still breaking in the rings but on the pull to set the AF ratio it made 386RWHP. My tuner told me to put about 1500 miles on it and bring her back and he was sure we would make more than 400. When I was running just the cam + boltons my best was a 12.48 in the 1/4. I can't wait to see how its gonna run with these heads.

SSTOWERMAN,
I can let you know how my new Torquer2/408ci combo performs at the Dyno shop on Oct 13th. I just swapped out a stock 5.3L for the Torquer2 w/ a bored, stroked, and forged LQ9(Escalade) bottom end. Put CnC'd LS6 243 heads w/ Diamond pistons and the old Air intake manifold/TB on top.
Stroker2112
408ci, Eagle 4" crank, 6.125 Rods, forged Diamond pistons, ARP bolts, Torquer2, LS6 243s(CnC'd by Patriot), 2.5" True-Dual exhaust w/flowmasters, K&N Air filter, stock intake/TB (adding 90/90 and dry nitrous later).

I have this cam in my 04 ZO6 M6. I have it on a 112 LSA with milled/cnc'd LS6 heads, stock LS6 manifold, ported TB. Made 455 rwhp before a tune as it barely ran, and I mean barely. After a tune it makes considerably more and runs great. Nice lope in the idle, starts pulling hard at 3200 rpms and doesnt drop off until after 7000 rpm's. I ran my car down to Detroit this weekend and it averaged 30 mpg. Overall I would do it again and I reccomend this cam to many people wanting a good all around cam.
Oh yeah...it likes the juice too

Zach,
Do you recall what all the bolt ons for the Z-28 were? Also were the heads 241s? Is this a cam that really loves more compression? I am very interested in this for my next cam.
Thanks
AJ

im confused on tsp site the cam says poweband 1800-6400 why does it kick in at 3000??? whats the 1800 mean then? and my bolt on graph of my car pull from 5200 till 6 straight across that graph seems to drop off early?

the pull started at 3k rpm, it doesnt show anything less than that. This car brings in power pretty early. It does respond well to compression. The Z28 in the graph had pacesetter lt's, tsp true duals, underdrive pulley and stock throttle body, ls6 intake.
