Cam dowel???
We did a cam swap using a brand new Comp Cam tonight. Right before we slid the new cam in, we noticed that the dowel on the new cam was barely sticking out. The dowel does not go in the hole of the cam gear...
We are calling Comp on Thursday for advice...
Anyone seen this before, what is the fix? I can't see any way of pulling the pin out.

There should have been, if I remember correctly, a styrofoam block in either end of the box to prevent the cam from moving. It sounds to me like the end of the cam was banged and pushed the pin in. A machine shop could probably drill it, pull the old pin out and put a new pin in.

The last 8 cams I have bought from Comp never had anything over the ends of the cams.
