455 Ls1?
I'm planning on starting a project soon that would involve taking the cast iron 6.0 and turning it into a 455 pushing as much horsepower as possible.
still working on the details, though
any ideas, suggestions or comments?

Thats funny I was just looking through my collection of high perf Pontiac. They got an article in there "Poked and Stroked: Inside A 455 cubed LS1." Just wondering if thats where you got the idea... apparently MTI builds it for the newer GTOs a package costing $19,995, per this article. Dont quite know how many have layed down the dough for it though...

I don't think it will happen with a iron block. Considering a max bore of 4.060" and a max stroke of 4.250", you only get 440 cubes. You would have to take the block out to 4.125" bore, which isn't going to happen, then run the long 4.250 stroke on pretty short cylinder. Not a desirable combo at all.

They resleeve the LS1 block using Darton M.I.D. sleeves so that they can have a larger bore. Theese sleeves can be taken out to 4.160 inches. This is also why the package is so expensive.
