Use thread sealer, so oil does not leak into the intake runners. The bolts go right through on the intake.

Yes, thread sealer on intake if heads are ported.
And only torque to 22lbs, max 24lbs
26lbs can bust your nuts ( I mean bolts )

if my bolts dont go through to the intake do i still need it? also will 26 lbs be bad. the motor is now all together and running good. also how important or neccessary is it to retorque the head bolts. the bolts have been used before and i just replaced the head gaskets. bolts are arp torqued to 70 lbs? after one heat cycle should i retorque.? im using gm performance head gaskets.

A little at the end doesn't hurt, I personally never use any.
GM head gaskets are permatorq, no need to retorq, but again with ARP bolts it cannot hurt after 2/3 heat cycles to check trq.

I would re-torque to 22 and also use a small amt of locktite.
