Default forged 347 ?s

i'm having my engine built with forged rods and pistons and i've read the break-in cycle write-ups but i've got a few additional questions.

previously my car was heads/cam and had a tune. now, with the built bottom end and maybe a little bigger cam. i would like to drive it to the shop where it will be tuned, which is 250 miles from my house. then have it dynotuned, and then drive it back home.

would all these miles before the tune be ok for the new engine? what advice can you guys give me about the whole situation? is there anything special that i need to do or keep in mind? i really dont want to pull it on the trailer but will if i have to.

the tune should be fairly close if you aren't drastically changing the size of the cam.the drive to the dyno might be a good thing if you plan on breaking it in like by varying the rpms on your way there and not keeping at a constant rpm.

Yea I would do a little more than 250 miles, and follow the rest of the advice and you should be good.

That was an interesting article. I would like to see some of the sponsor/builders/tuners chime in on that break in procedure. I`m gonna be putting in new motor this winter and more curious than ever now.

I'll be getting my car back from the shop tomorrow with forged internals. I also would like to hear some opinions on this. Does it matter if the car is supercharged?

If you go with hard break in/dyno pulls method let us how it goes.
