Default Manley Valve Springs 221423-16

Any body know about the ls1 manley valve springs 221423-16 ???? ive heard they can with stand .575 or ,.600 which one is it???? any one have any suggestions? i want a fm 14 cam or torquer v.2 would these work and would you use the stock spring seats??

they go up to .600. i'd go with a double spring if you're going to run either of those cams.

plus if you run double springs and a spring happens to break, the inner spring would still work to keep the valve from dropping onto the piston.

I have these exact springs with my cam which is .581 lift. I have never been to the track and baby the hell out of my car. I broke a spring at 1900 rpm's one night. After calling manley to see if I could buy indiviual springs they asked what lift I had and they told me straight up that the spring was only made for .575 but it was my call. I went ahead and just replaced the spring since the set was pretty new and haven't had another problem but that has only been about 2000 miles ago. Yes company's do sell this spring in a package deal with higher lifts than .575 hence they reason I used them, but that info was from the manufactor so you use your judgement. I would go with a higher rated spring.

If you only knew some of the cams people are getting away with on 918's

i'm not doubing that there are some that are running big cam's w/918's. i wouldn't do it personally.
