Are these lifter trays numers the good ones?

Default Are these lifter trays numers the good ones?

I have #17, #18, #20. these are not the bad numbers are they?

Those are what I used and about the latest ones made. Should be fine. The only issue I have ever heard of was with "10", where some were found to have the lifter turned a small amount and with increased spring pressures of aftermarket springs the lifters failed.

Didn't you get the other pack you ordered or did you end up going local?

Ditto the LS1 trays with 10 cast in were dangerous. FWIW, I had two number 10 trays in my motor when my lifters went due to an incorrectly ground cam. both 10 trays were the only ones that DIDNT have galled up lifters! Hows that for dumb luck.

I did order a set but I went and got these at a dealer. I guess I'll just sell the others

Wish I knew, I bought the "set of 5" and have one left, could have sent it out as its just sitting in a box.

If my memory serves they come 5 in a box..someone @ GM Parts phuched up packaging them like that.

You do not have to buy the whole box..when I ordered mine the parts manager at the dealership where I work was upset with 5 in a box..as in what the hell am I going to do with one of these things..

It all depends on where you buy them. The dealers may break up the pack, but some of the discount places won't because that's how GM packages them. Doesn't make much sense, since an LSx engine only uses four, to package in quantities of five.
