Default dcr and scr in tahoe

I'm getting a 383 eagle stroker kit for my tahoe. i'm going to use my 5.3 block. 4"stroke 3.905" bore. now how much dcr can i run in my tahoe? i use 93octane gas. i want a good amount of torque down low. i don't really have money for heads right now. i know i need some but i need money first. so i wanted to run my 5.3 heads but it put the compression up there. something like 11.7:1 would this be too high? i was thinking of a good cam but not too big maybe something like Patrick G's torque cam. it give me a dcr of like 8.5:1 or alittle higher. whats the limit really of a heavy truck and dcr on 93 octane?
