SLP AFR Cylinder Head and Cam Package
Anyone have any experience with the 525hp package? hp #s or problems?
A friend is thinking about getting it. It has AFR 225 heads and a 236/236 cam. He has a A4 stock stall, would he need a higher stall convertner with that cam?
Thanks!

i haven't heard anything good nor bad about that package. however, to answer your second question, a higher than stock stall converter would be beneficial if your friend chooses the package. anywhere from a 3600-4000 stall would work with that high duration cam. also consider getting some gears to match everything up...i recommend some 3.73's.

I, too, have no experience with this package, but it's unusual to use the 225 version of the AFR heads with a stock shortblock, as the 205's wiork better for a street car. If your friend's car is going to be used primarily for high RPM driving, they should be good, but with an A4, and street use....I don't know.

thanks for all the responses. My friend is getting a new tranny, too. a 4l65-e from a GTO. GM told him that it has a 1300 stall in it. I think that would be way too small for a H/C car.
