Default what valve spring compression tool are you using????

i would like to know what tool everyone is using to do the valve springs on
their engines while in the car?? I have the l shape handle tool but will not get to the back valve springs. I also have the screw type that compresses just the spring. What tool is everyong else using???

This is one I made. It's a copy of the Tim's Valvespring tool you can buy on here for $40.

You can also use the AutoZone tool for most of the springs.

+1 on the larry / Tim type of tool. I made a double "tim's tool" myself out of 1/4" stock.

I used that when I changed mine. It's nice and small and can get to the back ones, but the people who designed it must have been idiots. The rotating head is made out of metal and the edges are sharp where you fingers go to turn it. There was no effort at all in smoothing them down. This is no big deal if changing a couple springs. But after one side my hand was hurtin pretty bad from turning that damn thing so much. I would vote on the larry/moore/whatever you want to call it tool.

Don't use this tool. If you have any type of spring surface treatment such as nitriding or shot peen, you will scratch the spring surface and can significantly shorten the life of the spring.

I used the Crane/Vinci tool that Vinci sells for about $80>>>>>>>>>>>>>
