Good cam selection. i have been looking at some cam specs for some time. I also want to use my car as a DD. Do about 10K miles per year. Type ina few cam specs into Dynomation (engine simulation software) even got it to find the best cam for me i said I wanted my power band between 5000 and 6500 RPM it came back with a 220/220-113 CAM. As I'm going for The Patriout Stage II LS6 heads aswell I'll feel more comfortable revving a little higher with a new valve train. The 226/226 comes with the Patriot Head Package.
The simulation shows I'll loose about 10hp at the fly wheel around 3000 RPM, but you take it over 4K and the power keeps climbing.
I know there are cams that give more power, but this 226/226 still provides power down low, and think its probbly the largest you would want to go for a DD, In my opinion. (not saying if you pick higher you are wrong, I'm just saying I wouldn't choose to)
You may want to check on springs, .581 lift is higher than stock. Stock is about .49X.
So if you want to change the cam and perhaps wanted to buy other bits, then the cam needs to breahe and exhale. So how about the Fast Intake Manifold, and LT headers. What is your budget?

Gotta do springs, stock lift is less than .500 no matter what year, and they won't like .581 lift or the much faster ramps. If coil bind isn't a problem, valve to piston clearance would be when the valves float.
Basic list: LT's & cats, Cam, Springs, Extra Locks, Gaskets, Crank bolt
Things that should be replaced: Timing set, Oil Pump, rod bolts (1st two depend on model year and mileage, rod bolts on how high you want to spin it)
If your budget allows: titanium retainers, Ported TB, etc.
