Re: C5R Valve covers question..
You have to use permatex to seal them since they don't use a gasket. You do have the option of sending your heads to ARE or Katech to be machined for an o-ring but it cost around 150 plus shipping. Kinda dumb in my opinion when you can buy the Jay Fisher Covers for 500 and they use a factory gasket and are much higher quality in my opinion. I had the C5R's engraved first and then the Jay Fisher covers. I can safely say I like the JFP covers much better <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

Speaking of the Katech valve covers, they have a feature that I REALLY like... the oil squirter bars to direct oil onto the valve springs. Do the JFP covers have that feature, too??

That must have been something added since the version of C5R covers I had from Katech. The JFP covers have an oil baffle in them but thats it.

BADZ,
I almost put those on my 409 until the Jay Fisher covers came out. $300 is an awesome deal. The covers will fit all 99 and up LS1 style heads with centerbolt covers. They do have a provision for plumbing pressurized oil from the drysump system on the C5-R onto the valve springs. The set I have have threaded holes on the front and rear for this. As stated before, you will need to use gasket sealant since there is no o-ring provision.

I believe ARE has some custom fabbed valvecovers they are supposed to start selling sometime soon. I could get some pictures out there, but I don't know if Nick wants them "seen" yet or not...

Sounds good to me then. I will go ahead and buy from my friend and put them on and use the pressure point holes and include lines with the gasket seal.
