Default What do you think of this cam?

I want a few opinions on this cam for a cam only setup.
Specs are:238/242 605/610 114+4.
Its an A4 with full boltons and 4.10s. No stall yet but I plan on one. I am looking for something with more midrange power. Is the Four degrees of advance going to do that. Sorry for ramblin.

Where did you get those specs. Just curious because my new cam i just put in is a 238/242,.600/.612 on a 114+4. So far so good, have not gotten a tune yet. Next week it goes on the dyno. Mine is a 6k a year weekend and track driver. Im running a 4000 ss yank stall with 373 gears. Ill keep in touch with my progress. Let me know how your setup works also.

PS. Its very close to a ms3. Check out results with that cam.

good track cam, midrange to upper rpm hp/trq. hope your stall is 3800+. 110icl is okay to. it should pull hard for you.

LSA sounds too wide to me for a weekend only and track car, especially cam only. You'd like it more on a 110 LSA, possibly advanced a couple degrees.

114+4 gives you an intake valve closing point of 49*, pretty high for a 'midrange' cam.
110+4 gives you an intake valve closing point of 45*, much better, plus it would raise your DCR from 7.67 to 7.95.

Downsides? You better have a converter first since that will give you an additional 8 degrees overlap at .050". Also, plan on beefing up that tranny to take the additional stress of the 6500-6800 rpm shifts your probably going to get out of any cam in this range. Shifting it at 6000 to save it keeps you from getting to the meat of the powerband, so if you decide to go with that approach, I'd go with less duration.

Something like a 230/232 .592/.595 110+4 would work well with lower shift points, give you a higher cam only DCR of 8.21, and keep your overlap down at 11 degrees.

First thing that came to my mind reading this and as Hammer time said the LSA looks kinda long for it's specs.

I got a 3800 stall converter and the tranny is taken care of. You guys are thinkin that it will lack midrange power....correct. We haven't had a cam like this one yet. I bought it cheap enough if it blows all well. Keep em comin guys

Good to know you've prepared for this. 114 won't be so bad as long as you can use the powerband, as it will peak pretty high.

In an ideal situation, you could benefit from the tighter LSA, but I'm sure it will suit you well enough for your investment.
