3:73's... 4:10's... Hmm...
doing cam swap this weekend and want to know what gears would be best for the street?
Where would the diff ratio's be in the rpm range in 6th doing 70mph?
BTW, the cam is an MS4.

I am doing a heads/cam swap and I decided against using the 4.10s one the street, Im deciding between 373s and 390s. Unless your a drag queen, I would say 373s. Everyone says 1st gear is useless and you cruise around town in 4th and 5th. Just my opinion though.

ive got 4.30s in my car and they are just fine. even crusing on the freeway. 4.10s will be NO prob and trust me, with that big cam, you are definitely goign to want them.
my car was a dog with the 3.73s. my 4.30s were my best mod yet

6spd, go for the 4.10's ... or 4.30's if you can get them... cmon.. if u wanted gas mileage you wouldn't buy a MS4 right.... you have two OD gears... whats the worry, leave the 3.73's for us auto guys

I would say it depends what you want to do with the car. I like going to open track events and Auto-X. In Auto-X 4.10 will give you good acceleration but may cause excesive shifting depending on the course desing. In a road course situation I find that I would have the same problems in the slow speed of the course and possibly having to go to 5th in the straight (depending on the size of the track). Also it depends on where your limiter is set. At one of the local tracks I found my self really close to the limiter in 4th gear at the end of the long straight. That is close to 120+ mph If I had 4.10 I would have to shift right before having to brake hard and downshift for 2 slow corners. doing this once may be fine but 10-12 in a 20 min session and you get the idea. Now keep in mind to that is with the stock rev limitter. With the limiter set higher there is more room but also probably more wear in the engine.
So If you do any road racing, track days or auto-x, I would say 3.73's. If you do a lot of drag racing 4.10's will work great. My .02

To who ever asked about the 3.90's, Moser doesnt recommend the 3.90's as they tend to whine more then the other gears. I take its due to an odd number of teeth on the pinion or the ring that dont work well together for quiet operation.

like said before, the only downside would be if you are roadracing or autocrossing
