Default DIY H/C install

im leaning more towards doing my H/C install myself. I read on ls1howto and install university on how to do things. But i wanted to see if there are any things i may need to know so i dont mess anything up, before attempting to do this myself.

Heres what i have so far
Cam MS4
Heads assembled LS6 TSP
Head bolts
Gaskets
Ported Oil Pump
Double roller timing chain
new lifters

am i missing anything?

thanks

jay

What size gasket they recommend?

Also, people change out their crank pulley bolt as well. I did.

Well, to be safe, I would double check... and, the CC of those heads as well.

Besides the crank bolt, I would say you need some hardend push rods as well..

I'd also do an Under Drive pulley since you have to take the old one off anyhow. Pulley install tool (Sold by a member of the board) Depending on your mileage you may need new lifter cups. Mine refused to securely hold the new lifters in place. Exhaust manifold gaskets. Those self ratcheting wrenches are very helpful for tight places. I can go on and on... Take your time and you'll do fine..

I would assume for your head bolts... There is a process in tourqing down the bolts.. After you TQ them down to the proper TQ spec and in the right order, you have to give it another, whatever degrees, more to finish off the job..

I would just rent or buy the tool to be safe. I mean 10* is not alot angle wise, but alot when turning a bolt.
