The new motor
Hey everyone im building a easy setup something that is affordable for me and will make good power for what it is. I wanted to see what anyone thought about this setup.
347 block
stock crank
stock rods
forged pistons
ZO6 cam
241 heads P&P'ed
and a 125 shot of the juice when I want to go fast
Just wanted some input on what I could do to keep it on a budget and reliable. And everything will be Arp matched.

I'd spend the extra $$ on some good rods & Katech rod bolts if you plan on nitrous. Might as well do it now instead of regret not doin it later. I would also at least throw in a small cam too while your in there.
Also don't forget the following:
Melling or LS6 oil pump
LS2 timing chain (at least)
hardened pushrods
lifters (LS7 at least)
head bolts
head gaskets (thickness depending on how much the heads are milled & DCR)
cam bolt & gakset kit
springs or spring kit
I'm sure I'm missin a few parts.

Yea I have a ls4 oil pump and a ls2 timing chain I have a built valvetrain that im running in the car right now. pushrods and 918's. I was thinking of going with some forged rods but I can pick up a good set of stock rods for 50 bucks and get some rods bolts for extra strength.
