Default 1st double springs - how long do they last?

My H/C swap is now about 4 years old with no issues. At the time, behive springs were the rage but I decided to go with the double springs instead. I beleive these were the very first double springs that were designed for the Gen 3 engines. SDPC sold them to me, but I forget the brand.

Anyway, I have about 15K on the clock since then.

How long can I expect the doubles to last?

I have a very mild street can - see specs below.

I have around the same on mine. 15K miles. The only truely accurate way to go is to check pressure when new, again after breakin on springs, and yearly. If they lose more than 10lbs I would replace them. My Patriot Duals were in good shape after 15K miles and 3 years.

With three sets of chrome silicon springs I have noticed they seem to lose around 8-10lbs of pressure from NEW to after break in. For ex..... 130lbs when new, after 100 miles or so they have settled to 122-120lbs.

If in doubt, replace. Springs are cheap and motors are not.

Do the double springs put excessive loads on the seats? I heard early head porters got a nasty surprise when they found double springs in their intake ports.

I have not seen too much onthis recently.

What are the typical spring loads for behive Vs. doubles?
