Hi..im new here.
Hey guys, Im new here to LS1Tech.com I don't know if this is the correct forum to post this in..but it seemed as if so. I have a 1994 Acura Integra LS and im thinking of getting a 98+ LS1..I have a few questions though..
1) Whats a good price to pay for a A4/M6 1998 Camaro Z28?
2) Are there any general problems such as the OptiSpark in the 93-97 Z28's?
3) I'll be doing alot of highway driving with no traffic getting to work but alot of traffic getting back..on average how many mpg do you guys get?
4) How much is the insurance compared to others cars that you guys own(ed). BTW im 19 years old and I have a clean record. (knock on wood)
5) What is the ~ 1/4 of a A4/M6 LS1?
6) Are there any changes through the years? 98-2001?
I appreciate this..thanks alot!

Re: Hi..im new here.
I get between 21-23MPG. The 2001+ have the ls6 manifold and therefore have more power.
You could save some money if you got it insured with one of your parents as the primary driver. I am 20 and my mom is listed as the primary driver. She has never even driven it.

Re: Hi..im new here.
The difference in the Firebird and the TransAm (or is it TransAm and ws6?) version is like the difference between the z28 and the camaro ss. I believe all that is different is the hood and I think leather seats and power windows (mabe even a better radio). All this comes standard in the ss version, and I believe everything is optional on the Z28 exept the hood. On the camaro I think the hood adds about 20 flywheel hp.

Re: Hi..im new here.
the 01-02's are the year Ls1's that i would be looking at. They are proven to be alittle stronger, and come with the LS6 intake off the Zo6 vette. Their oil pumps seem to hold up better as well.
the 01+'s usually do low- mid 13's stock..but every once in a while there is a "freak" that breaks into high 12's stock.
the trans am has a LS1, the firebird is a v6? im not sure.

But I think there seems to be 3 different types of them. Firebird/TransAM/WS6..can anyone shed some light?
Also, I'd like a 2001+ but I plan on spending like 13k or so..so I won't be able to afford it.

Welcome to the site. For the 13k you can spend you should be able to find a 98-99 f-body. I have a 2000 Z28 and ran it at the track with about 100 miles on it and ran a 13.4 @ 106 mph, it's a 6 speed. With just a few bolt-ons and some sticky tires you can easily go 12's.
