235/243 .646/.653 110+4 vs. 239/242 649/609 110+4
235/243 .646/.653 110+4 (Patrick G's Custom Donkey Dick)
239/242 649/609 110+4 (Custom MS4)
Which one of these cams should give me the best mid-range to top end power with a set of TSP 2.5 LS6 heads 2.04 valves milled 0.030 for 59cc (flycutting of course), 0.040 cometic gaskets, and a fast 90mm intake w/nw tb? The car is a 6-speed w/stock 3.42s and most importantly strictly a street car.

Theoreticaly the MS4 should make a tad more power at peak but DCR on the Donkey Dick would be better so it is hard to tell, the graphs would almost overlay

Those two cams have nearly identical valve events and lift, and will therefore generate very similar power curves.
With either one, I'd go for more rear gear. And very good tuning is a must, preferably SD tuning.

I'm leaning towards Pat G's cam for the simple fact that I haven't seen any results from it and I would like to do something a little different. I'll look into getting a set of 3.90's for the rear.

I think the lifters should be fine, rockers on the other hand, i'm not sure. You could always have your stockers rebuilt by harland shard for fairly cheap just to be safe. And like I stated earlier, PRC double springs are a must.

ok, well I read in a previous post about the cam, and somebody said that you would need high lift lifters to run a cam that big on lift. I would probably go with a set of roller rockers with this cam, and yeah valve springs wouldn't be that big of a deal. have you did any research on heads for this cam? I know that you asked if they would work with your heads, but I thought I would ask.

Sorry to hijack, but maybe this might add to the knowledge taken from this thread, but do these high lift cams REALLY decrease the life of springs to the point you need to replace them every 20-30k miles? I mean, when you think about it, compared to a cam considered "mild," it's a .05-.1" difference ... that's tiny ... or am I just retarded? LoL

I'm planning on running TSP 2.5 LS6 heads milled 0.030 w/.040" cometic gaskets to achieve 59cc. This will require me to have -2cc valve reliefs. Although i'm pretty sure that with such a narrow lsa, flycutting would be required even with stock heads.

Go with the Donkey Dick and find a GREAT tuner
And I have some brand new PRC stage 2.5 LS6 heads that were milled .030, and .040 Cometic's that I'm getting ready to put up for sale if your interested.
