Default G5 cam and which heads?

I have been hearing a lot of good things about Absolute and TEA heads.

I have my eyes on the G5 cam (emissions issues?) and was wondering if anyone knows what is a good set of heads to complement the G5?

Or maybe I shouldn't use the G5??

Thanks for any help!

It depends on the RPM that your emissions testing is being done at. If it's at idle, then you could have some problems. If it's a rolling test that's done at around 2,000 RPM, then you should pass with flying colors. The majority of aftermarket cams clean up really well with a few RPM's. If you have LS1 Edit, you could always take the car in with a 1,200 RPM idle and see what happens. This is assuming that you have a set of good cats on the car, too.

In maryland you don't have any emission on-site. You drive up, they plug into your OBD II, download your on-board data, then you drive away with a pass or fail!

Thats it!

Anyway - I'm still looking for a good heads recommendation!

Thanks!

Probably the best heads to go with the G5 cam would be ones that LG Motorsports sells in their head/cam package to maximize the HP/tq numbers.

I happen to have a freshened set of heads from LGM for sale that would be perfect with the G5, if you are interested.

I am interested - sent you private message.

Still thinking of T.E.A. 5.3 Stage II or Absolute LS1 stage II, and Cartek Stage II+"M" cam.

So many choices - It drives me nuts trying to figure out what is a rock solid winner. (not necessarily the most HP, just quality work and a good solid car)

So CamM - check your private msgs!
