Cam experts for a 409!
I am in the process of having a 409 built with an eagle crank, scat rods, je forged nitrous pistons and moly rings. It will be topped off with out of the box L92 heads for right now and a L76 intake. The car has an automatic transmission and will probably be getting rid of the true duals and trading them in for a set of shorty headers. I know that alone will be leaving alot of power on the table. I want a cam that is very streetable. Drives like stock Idles like stock but will make good power throughout the rpm range. Also I may be stretching it but maybe pass smog. I have the nitrous pistons for some nitrous to make up for the power that I am leaving on the table. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thank you.

Sure a 228/244 639/610 116+3
And no I am not joking. With that weak exhaust and those heads/intake your going to want a 15+ split in duration. This cam will idle real nicely and love the spray.
Good luck

I am not real fimilar with cali emmisions since I live in fla.
But I would defentially keep a huge split and maybe a smaller intake duration would work. I was just throwing something off the top of my head.

Your right though. I sent Patrickg a pm about a cam and he recommended a 230/242 .612/.612 118LSA +1advance. I know it isnt ideal with what were doing with the 409 but I want it to work. As always the sponsors are trying to help out Thank You very much.
