Default displacement info

i just ordered an 408 iron short block from texas speed and i look at the paper work the bore is 4.010 and the stroke is 4.000 now im not that smart but i think that sounds more like a 404 not a 408 can any one give me any feed back thanks.

bore x bore x .785 x stroke x number of cylinders. so (4.01*4.01)*.785*8= 403.93. so yes it is a 404. 408 is 30 over. not 10

That is a 404ci, you're right.

bore x bore x stroke x #of cyl x.7845

Usually 408's are a 4.030 bore with a 4" stroke.

call and ask. I'm sure they sonic test all the blocks...but I doubt there's an iron block that only tested to a .010 overbore... standard aluminum blocks go that far... I've seen iron blocks go as far as 4.060. Call and ask.
