Default Worth it to install a cam without a decent clutch?

Hey everyone, i was wondering my clutch is getting near extinction, and was wondering if it was even worth installing one without a decent clutch, my car will not see any track time, only street racing, 99% of races occuring from rolls, would i be ok with my stock clutch? I have seen many people running cams on stock clutches just wanted to know if its possible with the driving that ill be doing, Thank you Ricky

Mods in sig with a stock LS1 clutch although it is fairly new approx 4,000 mi. It feels great, but I don't drop the clutch at high revs either.

i had a 224/224 cam put in at 35k miles and left it in for 30k miles on my stock clutch and when we pulled the clutch it still had a good amount of material on it...

When you say sloppy do you mean it slips? If its slips a little from time to time a cam will eat it up. My tr224 finished of my stock clutch within a month, it had 60k on it and was a little suspect. It had slipped from time to time and had been abused really bad once during a 3rd gear burnout.

I would put the clutch in first. A bigger cam would only make it worse. I see your street racing from a roll. I hope you have some street drag raidals to keep the tires from spinning. I think tires would be better idea now then a bigger cam. If you did put a bigger cam in you would be spinning the tires more. We wouldn't want you to lose to those Rustangs because yor tires were spinning.
