Default Heads and cam question

Will the PRC stage 2.5 5.3L heads combined with a TSP 233/239 114 LSA cam shaft work on a stock short block LS1 with out flycutting the pistons? I will be running 3.73 gears, 275/60/15 MT drag radials, a 150 of nitrous, and all the supporting mods. With this cam what stall torque converter is recommended? 4000+?

some input would be appreciated.

It says on TSP's website that the heads will be around 10.75:1 comp ratio.

I can't really see spending the money on a fast 90/90(unless its necessary down the line), how well would the LS6 intake and an aftermarket TB work for this setup?

Not 100% but that cam should fit no prob, nice choice on gears and no need for a 4000+ stall but I have a 3200 and can barely notice it. If I were to do it again I would go 4000 myself. I say get atleast a 3600. JYI, that cam loves the juice, should be a stellar combo at the track. Have fun

With the heads, cam, Weiand intake, BBk TB, 3.73's, 275/60/15 drag radials, and 150-175 shot, what stall converter would be the best suited for it?

The 5.3s will fit with the 233/239's as long as you don't get crazy with the milling. My old setup was that exact H/C combination - heads only had a 0.006" clean up pass and they fit fine.

Check with TSP to be certain, but I highly doubt you'd have any problems. Probably could mill them a bit as well for added CR.

Good luck.

I don't plan on milling the heads. I'm going to be bolting them on w/o any mods to them, unless they can be cleaned up more in the chambers/runners. The only thing i'm worried about is the converter. Is 3600/3800 just right, or not enough?

Get a 6200 stall, and a 500 progressive shot!

Or a 3600-3800 stall will work just fine.
