"Broken" is kind of a broad term. If a cam lobe is messed up it will cause a tick. If the cam is broken in half, you would certainly know it as the car would either run very badly and make tons of noise or not run at all depending where the break is. Is your car making noise are you just wondering?

Nevermind, saw your other post.

I would be suprised if the motor would fire with a broken cam. And you would have had to really mess something up BAD to break a cam.

Now there could be damage to the lobes from whatever happened with the lifter situation in the other thread. That will cause noise.

Alright..we are thinkin now that it could possibly be a broken/cracked Flexplate..so I am goin to investigate that.

The sound that it's making doesn't make any sense with what goes on in the Engine..
