Default I'm going to be hated...cam question!

I've narrowed my cam choices down to two.

Either
224/224 .581/.581 112LSA
or
228/224 .571/.569 112LSA

I think I'm going to get 5.7L stage 2 heads rather than 5.3L heads to keep the compression down, but my main question is, what cam will work best, which one will I not have to worry about p/v clearance with, and which one will make more power? I don't really want to have the heads milled.
current mods: Hooker lt's, airlid, true duals

Thanks for the help.

If your not gonna mill the heads then you shouldn't have any p/v problems

And I would go with the 2nd one, but that's just my opinion

I think what you meant is you don't want to have the pistons fly-cut; milling the heads will give you less p/v clearence, not more. At any rate, you're OK with stock heads. You better use some dual springs and Ti retainers with that kind of lift though(first cam or you could go with a TR224/.561 with single springs.

What type of compression ratio would I have if I stick with 5.7L heads or go to 5.3L heads (*note* best gas here is 91 octane). These heads are going to be the stage 2 heads from Patriot Performance, so they come w/good retainers and dual springs. Thanks for the info.

Well my vote would be the 2nd cam. I'm a little bias though as I've decided on getting a 228/228 .571/.571 113lsa (xe grind). I'm sure you'd be happy with the results of either.
