Default 98 trans removal ( HEEEELP )

Pretty sure I lost the front seal . Trying to remove trans for rebiuld with shift kit . I can't get the last bolt off the trans. The one way up top . I got a good extension and swivel setup but can't get the socket to sit on the bolt due to the clearence issue . I tried letting the trans down as far as it wood go after removing the crossmember . Still not enough room . Should I remove the intake and try from the top ? Thanks in advance

Whooah ! i got that bastage off . How the hell you get the 3 torque converter bolts off . I got the trans off 1 1/2 inches with just enough room for a wrench but the bolt heads are round with allen head style bolt ? Do I just pull the tranny out with the converter still bolted to the flywheel ?

Heat them up, and either hold the motor by the crank bolt or with a screw driver in the flexplate. I rounded the first two and ended up dremeling them out anyways. But if you don't have new converter bolts, you may not want to do that.

Alright ,I got them off . Had to take off starter to get to the converter bolts . Guess what I found , a 3000 stahl . I thought it was stock . By the way , my brother bought this 98 LS1 Camaro with L/T headers, true duals all the way to the back . He's put LS6 intake bigger T/B , best time on 1/4 was 12.99.
