Default CAM COMPARISON

Im currently using the 02 Z06 cam 204/218 .550 116, my question is if I install a comp cam 212/218 .522/.529 on a 114 lope, will I gain more performance? Fastest I have gone is a 12.2-12.3 at 112mph on a 1.76 60ft, im trying to hit 11.90 with just a mild cam. Anyone use this cam?

1st, the lsa on the '02 Z06 cam is 117.5, not 116... 2nd, y don't u try comps LS6 replacement cam, 212/218-.558/.563-115... it should idle pretty good... u didn't say if u have an M6 or A4, or what other mods u have... an M6 can take a bigger cam without tuning... how about comps 216/220-.524/.529-114?

It looks like you'll need another 20-30 HP to get you into the 11.90's (rough guess). The '02 Z06 cam is no slouch on the top end. 11.90's are going to be tough. My guess is you'll need a good set of heads with a mild cam (Z06 cam; comp 212/218; comp 216/220) or set up to an MTI C1 or TR224 type cam (agressive cam lobes with 222+ duration) with stock heads.

This is what I have observed from others on this board.

JPR would be a good source to consult as well. He seems to be the "little cam" expert.

I would assume you are already geared correctly. With the 222+ type cams you will want 3:73 to 4:10 gears to take full advantage of the cams.
